Result

Enter all five values and press Verify.

How to read the result

An issuance lookup comes back as one of two results.

This invoice was issued

The National Tax Service has a record of this issuance. The result shows the issue date, document type, and supplier name. No buyer name is shown when the buyer is an individual.

No record found

If any one of the five values differs, you get this result. The National Tax Service does not say which value differed, so re-check the approval number and the supply value first. A transmission takes about six minutes to appear.

Document types

electronic tax invoice

Issued for taxable transactions that carry VAT.

electronic invoice

Issued for tax-exempt transactions.

electronic (tax) invoice

The National Tax Service did not distinguish the type. Hometax shows it the same way.

What this lookup covers

What this covers

  • All five values must match to confirm issuance. If any one differs, the result reports no record and does not say which value differed.
  • The buyer name is hidden when the buyer is an individual. That value is a person's name rather than a company name, so the National Tax Service does not disclose it.
  • It takes about six minutes for the National Tax Service to register a transmission. Check an invoice you just received again a little later.
  • The resident registration number you enter is used only for the National Tax Service lookup and is never stored.
  • Treat the result as a reference. Before paying or claiming an input tax deduction, re-check on Hometax.

FAQ

About the Tax invoice verification

Is tax invoice verification free?

Yes. It is free and requires no sign-in. It checks one invoice at a time.

What do I need to enter?

Five values: the supplier registration number, the buyer registration number, the approval number, the issue date, and the supply value. The National Tax Service confirms issuance only when all five match.

An invoice I just received is not found.

It takes about six minutes for the National Tax Service to register a transmission. Wait a moment and check again before suspecting forgery.

Does no record mean the invoice is fake?

No. A single wrong value among the five gives the same answer. Start by re-checking the approval number and the supply value.

Does it tell me which value is wrong?

No, and neither does the National Tax Service. Reporting which value failed would let someone recover the contents of the original invoice by changing one value at a time.

The buyer name is empty.

When the buyer is an individual, that value is a person's name rather than a company name, so the National Tax Service does not return it. The issuance itself is still confirmed.

Can I look up an amended tax invoice?

Yes. An amendment has a negative supply value, so enter the figure exactly as printed on the invoice, sign included.

Can I enter a resident registration number as the buyer?

For an invoice issued to an individual, enter the 13-digit resident registration number. It is used only for the National Tax Service lookup and is never stored.

Does it distinguish invoices from tax invoices?

It shows the document type exactly as the National Tax Service returns it. When no type is provided, the result reads electronic (tax) invoice.

Issue with Bolta and see the transmission result on the issuance screen

Every issued invoice keeps its transmission result and National Tax Service approval number, so there is nothing to verify separately.
